Posted: 6/14/22

The Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District has appointed Terry Jeffery as the organization’s permanent District Administrator. Jeffery, who has been serving as Interim District Administrator since March of 2021, brings with him more than 25 years of experience in natural resources management, including four years as the District’s Watershed Planning Manager.

“I believe watershed districts are uniquely positioned – crossing political, social, and disciplinary boundaries – to address natural resources issues in a holistic manner,” says Jeffery. “I am excited to be able to continue the great work of the RPBCWD with the dedicated and amazing employees and volunteers as we fulfill the RPBCWD mission to protect, restore, and manage our many water resources."

As the District’s Watershed Planning Manager, Jeffery developed and managed a regulatory program to streamline and enhance resource protection and co-authored the current 10-Year Watershed Management Plan. Prior to joining RPBCWD in 2017, he spent 10 years as the Water Resources Coordinator for the City of Chanhassen, developing a city-wide mapping application of city utilities for MS4 compliance.

Jeffery holds a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and a B.S. in Biology and Earth Science Education from the Minnesota State University – Mankato. He is an avid bicyclist who enjoys leading rides that introduce the public to the natural amenities and various watershed protection projects in the District.
