Wetland Inventory Assessment Notice

This spring/summer, we will be conducting a study to survey the health of wetlands within the District in Minnetonka, Shorewood and Deephaven. You may see staff members in your neighborhood. Staff will be wearing bright, high-visibility vests/jackets and will be driving District vehicles marked with the District logo. No disturbances or marking will occur. This is part of an initiative to restore and protect wetlands. Wetlands are important parts of our landscape. They help prevent flooding, recharge groundwater, improve water quality, create wildlife habitat, and increase climate resiliency. National and local inventories are incomplete, and this study will enrich understanding of our wetlands. If you see us out in the field, say hello; we love interacting with our wetland neighbors!
