Christmas Tree Giveway

The Christmas Tree Giveway is hosted by the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District. The trees are located on a property in Eden Prairie that used to be a family Christmas tree farm. Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this event for? We are working with local organizations to promote the event to low-income families.

Is this a free event? Yes! There's no cost for the tree or other event activities.

What information do I need to provide to reserve a Christmas tree? You only need to provide a name and email address to make a reservation. Your email will only be used for to provide weather-related updates about the event.

What do I need when I pick up the tree? At pickup, you will only need to provide the name for the reservation. We will not ask for identification or personal information. You will also need to provide your own transportation to take the tree home. We recommend bringing an old blanket or towels to protect your vehicle from scratches from tree branches.

Why do I need to sign up for a time slot? The number of trees is limited so we're asking people to make a reservation in advance. Also, parking is limited at the site so we want to spread out arrival times.

May I get more than one tree? We are limiting participation to one tree per household.

What is the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District? We are a local unit of government that protects and restores natural resources such as lakes and streams. Learn more at rpbcwd.org.

What if the reservation date or times don't work for me? What if I need to cancel my reservation? What if I have other questions? Reach out to Liz Forbes at Lforbes@rpbcwd.org or 952-607-6481.
