Fall Project Tour 2026

Last week, the RPBCWD Board of Managers, Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC), and staff got together to tour our District! This tour is a way for different members of our community to interact and learn more about our long-term projects & partnerships. This fall, we stopped at 4 locations:

🌳North Lotus Lake Park: The group learned about preliminary concepts for this park that include stormwater basins and a unique visitor experience.

📚Chanhassen Civic Campus: The City of Chanhassen explained how they worked to improve sustainability & water quality at their civic campus with help from RPBCWD.

☀️Lake Susan Park: This stop covered past, present, and future. RPBCWD staff explained the pros and cons of previous projects, the carp management program, and future restoration efforts.

🚓Eden Prairie Police Department: The group learned from the City of Eden Prairie about low-salt design. Intentional design helps prevent the formation of ice and keeps salt out of our waterbodies.

We ended the night with a social hour to celebrate that Hyland, Rice Marsh, and Riley lakes are being removed from the MN Impaired Waters list! This event celebrated the hard work and contributions of our stakeholders and partners across the district. We are grateful for this community and the opportunity to celebrate with all!
