The Incredible Journey

The image shows colorful illustrated cards, each depicting different natural scenes, including one labeled "River."

In Incredible Journey, students become water droplets as they move through different locations in Earth’s systems, discovering firsthand that water does not simply move in a circle—but follows a complex web of pathways and destinations.

Through movement, role-play, and reflection, students explore how water changes form and travels through the atmosphere, land, and living things. This tried-and-true activity supports systems thinking, reinforces key water cycle concepts, and helps students build a deeper, more accurate understanding of how water moves through our world.

Students will be able to:

  • describe the movement of water within the water cycle.
  •  identify the states of water as it moves through the water cycle.
